Right now, it’s all about YOU. So, let me ask you this – how do you feel when you think about self-care? Maybe…

• It sounds like a “nice idea” but also like it’s a foreign concept because of your crazy-busy schedule.

• That it’s a luxury you’ll experience when everything else gets done (and if you’re being honest, a little selfish).

• You recoil, not believing your body is worthy of being cared for at its current size.

I feel each of these reactions so deeply, having experienced them all to one extent or another. But if you’re reading this feeling flat (low energy, mediocre mood, burnt out, unhappy) – I invite you to revisit where self-care is landing on your priority list.

Here are a few re-frames to help you on your self-loving way…

• Try scheduling your self-care activities FIRST and fiercely protect this time, as you would any other commitment. This quote reminds me why it’s so important.

• Hear me when I say there’s nothing selfish about self-care. By taking care of yourself on a regular basis, the important people in your life will get the best of you, not what’s left of you.

• If giving your body love right now feels too far out of reach, try swapping self-love with respect. What activities can you engage in to show your body some R-E-S-P-E-C-T?

And remember – there is no “right” way to “do” self-care. If bubble baths don’t bring you joy, luckily there’s a lot of other options out there to explore. I’ve put together a list of resources for you to scroll through when you’re ready to take some affectionate action.
