Sometimes, it can feel like everyone is dragging themselves out of bed and can barely stay awake. If you’re reading this like 🙋 (that’s me!), my friend – I feel you.

In honor of taking good care of yourself this month, let’s explore five gentle ways you can recharge your batteries, after a long day.

1. Give yourself permission to pause.

You won’t be seeing any “energy hacks” happening here. That’s because I’m a big believer in honoring what your body needs. So if you’re feeling like you need some downtime, here’s your permission to take it.

2. Practice compassion.

If being kind to yourself when you’re feeling “lazy” is hard to do, picture a good pal confiding in you that they’re pooped. What would you say?

I’m thinking something along the lines of “life can be tough stuff, you’re doing your best, and it’s okay to rest.”

3. Nourish yourself with foods that are aligned with how you want to feel.

Before you decide on dinner, I invite you to pause and think about how you want to feel after your meal. Remember that some foods can make us feel sluggish and others, uplifted.

4. Explore gentle and restorative movement.

Gentle stretching, a walk around the block or dancing to your favorite tune are all wonderful, rejuvenating ways to move your body.

Try out different activities and see what feels right for what you need. And if you’re anything like me, corpse pose aka savasana might be what you need most nights.

5. Head to bed earlier and create a sleep sanctuary.

Sometimes, we just need more sleep. If you can, head to bed even just 15 minutes earlier than you normally would.

Ditch/dim your phone/screens, seek some sleep support (if you want), and enjoy those extra Zzz’s!
